I wrote about this on another page of my website, but my quads are still screaming from yesterday's workout with my trainer. You always have to listen to your body, and my body said to not run. So, I listened. I did an hour-long yoga session and it was delightful. My quads are still sore, but I'm in better shape than if I had decided to run today. In fact, I might have risked an injury if I had done so. That wouldn't have been smart considering that I'm just under six weeks away from race day. In honor of doing yoga today, I give you Day 9 of #100happy days: my yoga mat. The intense workout and serenity you get from yoga cannot be adequately put into words in my book. You just need to experience it!
So, no kidding, arms are sore and my shoulders hurt all because of candy bars. Our students are selling them for a fund raiser. The truck got to our school to drop them off and my principal and I did a bulk of the work. We unloaded one and a half pallets of boxes of chocolate. We worked almost an hour, and so that was my workout for today. Sometimes you have unorthodox workouts, and this was definitely one of them. Day 5 of my #100happydays is the four dogs that currently reside in our house. They are all different shapes and sizes with unique personalities, and they are so much fun!
I'm so excited to be seeing some results in my quest to drop body fat. In exactly one month, I've been able to decrease it by 2.5%!! I started at 20.6% and today I measured it at 18.1%!! The key for me has been to drastically drop the big three out of my diet for the most part: pasta, rice, and bread. I really enjoy all three, but I haven't missed them for the most part. I've been having bread occasionally. Pasta and rice happen rarely, and I'm definitely seeing the benefit. My goal is to get to 16% by the end of the school year ( a little over two months away). Below is my day 3 of #100happydays. I think it fits today.
It's okay to take a little time off, but I really didn't intend to let almost a month go by. I kind of lost sight of my goals, but now I'm back, refreshed, and ready to go. Today, I started a 100 day happy challenge. The challenge is to be happy for 100 days in a row, and you post a picture of what makes you happy each day on the social media of your choice. I decided to go with Facebook to post my pictures, and today was my first day. I tend to see myself as a happy person in general. In fact, on the happiness scale, I rated myself an 8 out of 10. I think it's because I'm naturally positive and don't let many things frustrate me. However, I can always make discoveries about what makes me truly happy and so I decided to take the plunge on this challenge. Since today was St. Patrick's Day, I felt it was a fitting day to begin since I'm half Irish. I posted a picture of my shamrock tattoo, because I'm so proud of my heritage. So, I decided that I'm going to post my pictures on my blog as well. I figure it's also a good way to get me back on track with consistently working on my website before I launch my business officially this summer.
I'm a lover of life, an eternal optimist, and I have an intense desire to add value through simple living and positive vibes.
