I try to put little nuggets of advice when I tweet or update my status on Facebook. The thing is that these nuggets are many times what I want to make sure that I'm doing on a daily basis or something to think about for the day. I figure that if I can help one other person and myself, then two of us are going to be more successful with our day. :)
Heading into yesterday's 10 mile run, I was a little nervous. Who am I kidding? I was a lot nervous. I've been doing a lot of mid range runs (6-8 miles) in preparation for the Lincoln Half-Marathon, but I had not done a long run. I've done long cross-training (11-13 miles), but that's not the same as pounding the pavement. Well, yesterday was my day to get a run in. I figured the weather conditions might very well mirror what it will be like in three weeks. I mapped out a plan for water breaks and made sure I had a GU gel with me. My goal was to run 9:00 miles, because that's what I need to do in order to get under 2 hours. Well, I was pumped when I got to the end and averaged 8:55 miles!! It showed me that I can do anything I put my mind to do!
