Sometimes you read something that just virtually smacks you in the face, and it's like, "Whoa!"
I recently read an article that said when you reach adulthood (age 18 for this reference point), you have roughly 25,000 mornings (68 years) in your adult lifetime.
So, maybe I need to take back my "Whoa!", and change it to "Crap, I've wasted a lot of mornings!"
I mean, not to be morbid or anything, but my calculations tell me that I have approximately 13,870 mornings left (I'm 48).
So, I can do one of two things. I can either freak out and think about all the time I've wasted, or I can take advantage of every freaking morning. I'm going with the latter one.
I say morning, because my morning really sets the tone for my day, and I can honestly say that I've grown to love my mornings. I get up at 5:00 a.m., and I have my "stations":
1. Journal station - 5 minutes of journal time
2. Bible reading station - 10-15 minutes of bible reading
3. Meditation station - 10-15 minutes of guided or timed meditation
4. Yoga station - 10 minutes of basic yoga/stretching
Now, there are some mornings where my stations get condensed if I go for a run, but overall, this is what I do. It took some time to get everything in place, but now that I do it's so much easier to get up in the morning. I get excited just thinking about how my day will start.
Plus, I have to take advantage of every single morning!
I'm a lover of life, an eternal optimist, and I have an intense desire to add value through simple living and positive vibes.
