I am going to write my next few blogs about the list I posted yesterday, but today I'm going to take a slight detour, bird walk, or go completely off the beaten path if you will.
Sometimes we say things that we regret. We are emotionally charged and the words tumble out before we have a chance to get them back. Then we apologize for the wrongdoing. The whole process is tiring.
However, today I discovered that silence can be just as exhausting. Sometimes we squelch the desire to say something when we know that it's for the greater good to just not say a word. Holding it in takes a lot of effort and discipline.
When it was all NOT said and done, I thought about just heading straight home because my brain was tired. As I got to the turn for the gym parking lot, I pulled in because a workout is physical. I didn't need to think or feel. I just needed to get my sweat on, and that's exactly what I did.
I never regret a workout and I certainly didn't regret being silent today when it was called for. Both were well worth the effort.
I'm a lover of life, an eternal optimist, and I have an intense desire to add value through simple living and positive vibes.
