Before we can put a plan together for a goal, I've learned that we need to actually have a step before the plan. It is step zero, and it's they "why" behind the goal. Why are we working toward the goal? The Why Power is what we need in order to reach the goal.
For example, my goal is to be doing my life coaching business as my full-time job by the time I reach 50-years-old (that's less than three years away). I want to do it, because I'm passionate about working with others on their goals by serving as their partner.
My ultimate Why Power is wanting the flexibility to do what I want and when I want to do it. I want the power to dictate my schedule in my own way. In order to do that, I treat my dream job like a side job. I'm working to devote 15-20 hours a week toward making this my full-time gig. That's what I will need to do in order for that to happen.
Some days I'm tired and I don't want to do anything after I get home from my day job. However, I keep reminding myself that my dream job is going to be realized on its own. It's up to me if I want to make it a success. And that's all I need to keep moving forward.
